24 HOURS BEFORE…
Wax/shave/laser must be done at least 24-48 hours prior to your tan. This allows the pores time to close. Dotting in pores may appear if not adhered to. Remember remove all body hair then Exfoliate, Exfoliate, Exfoliate!
Think of exfoliating as the best wake-up call of your life! Jump in the shower then using an exfoliating mitt and an exfoliating scrub exfoliate your entire body. Scrubbing the whole body, make sure to pay extra attention to dry areas such as the joints (elbows, knees, wrists, ankles) to avoid a patchy fake tan or patchy spray tan look. Once scrubbed, rinse off with water and gently dry off with a towel and apply moisturiser to the entire body. Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated.
ON THE DAY OF YOUR SPRAYTAN…
Prep is key! Shower directly before your appointment. While it might sound strange, make sure to skip deodorant, body sprays, body moisturisers, perfume, as well as heavy facial moisturisers so the skin is a bare canvas ready for the spray tan solution.
Scale back on underwear (if any!), opting for a thin cotton g-string to ensure the least lines as possible. After getting a spray tan, some of the colour may rub off onto your clothes. To avoid that issue, wear dark, loose clothes after your appointment. Avoid wearing satin, silk, leather or lycra directly after your tan. If you feel comfortable, skip your bra and go commando, the looser, the better.
Hair nets, disposable g-strings and sticky feet are all supplied for your comfort and convenience.
COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR SPRAY TANNER.
If you want to get the best spray tan results, remember to communicate with your spray tanner. Always start by informing them if you have allergies, sensitive skin or any other skin conditions. Then, it’s important to be detailed when explaining exactly what shade you want. The best way to think of this is what you want your end result to be — do you want a light glow, a medium golden tan, or a rich deep bronze? It is important to say exactly what you want, the more you brief your spray tanner, the more they can understand what you want.”
POST TAN CARE
Depending on your desired result we recommend wear time on skin:
1 – 2 hours for lighter result
2 – 4 hours for a darker result
Rinse off your tan with warm water only for the first shower, gently brushing over the body with your hands to ensure all bronzer is removed evenly. Pat dry your body with a towel. Do not moisturise your body until after your second shower to allow the tan to continue to develop to its full depth, takes between 16 – 24 hours.
Avoid Chlorine, massages, excessive exercise and saunas within the first 24 hours while the bronzer sets in and develops.
Avoid wearing tight clothing for the first 24 hours (jeans or gym wear) as it can leave marks in the processing stage.
If you follow these guidelines, you’ll be flaunting your sunless summery Beach Body Glow for days. On average, a spray tan can last up to 10 days depending on how well you maintain it, but you can increase the life of your new glow by exfoliating and moisturising your skin and hydrating your body.
